We do this through strategic advisory, investment readiness support, and facilitating access to capital.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic operations professional to join our growing team in a pivotal role that supports the continued growth and efficiency of our organization. The Strategy, Planning and Operations Manager will collaborate closely with executive leadership to strengthen internal systems, improve cross-functional alignment, and enhance our regional delivery capacity. This is a key leadership-track opportunity for a mission-aligned individual with strong operational experience and a commitment to unlocking the potential of African enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Operations Planning:
Contribute to the development and execution of operational strategies that support TBN Africa’s 3-year vision and annual plans.
• Process & Systems Improvement:
Lead and support organization-wide projects to streamline internal processes, strengthen SOPs, and improve efficiency and performance.
• Performance & Delivery Oversight:
Track key performance indicators, coordinate reporting structures, and support a data informed culture of continuous improvement.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Work closely with teams across enterprise support, investment advisory, partnerships, and country hubs to align operations and planning.
• Organizational Learning & Development:
Support leadership on initiatives related to team development, performance management, and embedding organizational values.
• Operational Risk & Compliance Support:
Assist in developing and monitoring compliance protocols across regional operations.
• Leadership Support:

Participate in senior leadership discussions and contribute to high-level decision making processes on strategy, scaling, and innovation.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, is detail-oriented, and has a strong strategic mindset.

Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, development, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• 7+ years of professional experience in operations, strategic planning, or management roles within mission-driven organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Exceptional communication, planning, and analytical skills.
• Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership style.

• Experience working in multicultural, multi-country contexts.

Desirable:
• Background in entrepreneurship support, consulting, or non-profit management.

• Exposure to the East and Southern Africa entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Our Investment Advisory Services facilitate access to impact capital through our investor network by providing investment readiness support, transaction advisory, and post-investment services to SMEs.

Role Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Investment Associate to join our growing team in a pivotal role that supports the SMEs to become investment ready and access capital. This role involves supporting the Investment Advisory Services team in the following key areas:
Investment Readiness: Assist entrepreneurs in developing strategic business plans, financial models, and investment pitch materials.
• Transaction Advisory: Support the development and management of the investor pipeline and network. Conduct financial modelling, capital structuring, deal structuring, and due diligence.
• Capacity Building: Facilitate training for entrepreneurs, support investor education initiatives, and represent the organization at relevant forums and workshops.
• Impact Measurement & Post-Investment Support: Monitor and report on impact metrics such as job creation, revenue growth, and profitability to clients, funders, and investors.
• Relationship Management: Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, consultants, service providers, and entrepreneurs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in investment/transaction advisory, management consulting, or related fields.
• Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent financial modelling and investment analysis skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Preferred:
• Progress toward Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a strong advantage.
• Experience in legal and financial due diligence, fund or portfolio management, credit risk analysis, or SME lending.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
